Our author, Holley Kelley, spoke at a Gerontology Conference and not only sold several books and had a line waiting for her autograph, but her book, Sunrises and Sunsets: Final Affairs Forged with Flair, Finesse, and FUNctionality has been selected as a required test book in a Master's Level Gerontology Program. This is such good news that I am writing a blog on Saturday night at 10:30 p.m.!!
I am so proud of Holley, all her interviews, her perseverance in promoting her book. I have never met her in person (yet!), but I feel like a little mother hen when I think about all our communications by email (and sometimes by phone), how fun it is to celebrate her victories, cheer lead her on to one success after another. I really don't think failure is a word in her vocabulary. She is so professional and likable, all at the same time. The sky is the limit to where her journey will take her.
I wrote an endorsement for Holley and her book that is on the first page of her book, as follows: “Working on this book with Holley has been FUN, rewarding, and a life-enriching experience for me. Holley is the real deal. She is flexible, dedicated to making this book the best it possibly can be, and is tireless in its production. I can hardly wait until the book is actually in print so I can gather a few of my friends together, start a group, and work the process together. I anticipate not only a very supportive, meaningful connection but one that will make it FUN and act as a cure for any tendencies to procrastinate. Who knows?! As a former therapist, I may end up leading several groups! This book definitely has the makings for a profound and practical outcome. I can’t think of a better gift to leave my loved ones than the completion of this book and all its suggestions.”

So now the book is in print! On the horizon, I will be leading a group here on the Pacific Coast of Oregon. And today, she got several gerontology students wanting to be group leaders and giving Holley their resumes. How absolutely wonderful.
One more time, Congratulations Holley! We are very happy for you and your wonderful book. We print books that "make this a better world," and your book definitely fits our mission. Thank you for all your great work.
