My Identity as Mrs. Santa Claus by Cleone Lyvonne Reed
My Identity as Mrs. Santa Claus
Cleone Lyvonne Reed
Cleone first worked as Mrs. Santa Claus at Nordstrom in downtown Seattle in 1998. She quips that she had six husbands for four weeks, i.e., six men who played the role of Santa Claus. Because it was such a delightful experience, it resulted in her wanting more, so she created an ensemble and continued playing (not working!) as Mrs. Santa Claus, mostly for seniors in assisted living facilities or in the community whenever and wherever she could find an opportunity.
For a few years, her gorgeous cape was in circulation in Bandon, Oregon; but in 2020, she reclaimed it again. From there, an obsession grew to collect Mrs. Santa Claus figurines and dolls as a major part of decorating for Christmas.
This book is a poetic pictorial story of her experience in Seattle and what has occurred since that time (especially in 2020, the year of the Covid-10 epidemic), as she reclaimed the identity as Mrs. Santa Claus and started her collection.
