AN ALPHABEST OF LIMERISH by Weld Champneys
AN ALPHABEST OF LIMERISH
Everyone knows what a limerick is, right? – a short, naughty… well, at least humorous verse that goes, “There once was a man from Kentucky…,” or something like that.
But what’s a limerish? Well, every family has one kid who is Smith-ish, or Jones-ish. Right?
So, here for you is not just a regular A – Z, but an Alphabest of Limerish (with Artish doodles).
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Weld Champneys’ mother often said he was good at “making up stories,” and more than one of his teachers called him “creative.” One can only wonder if they were complimenting. Poet, artist, or library director were not what he wanted to be when he grew up. He wanted to be a forest ranger, same as the other guys. Though retired now with his wife and cat on the woodsy Oregon coast, he still at times wonders what he’ll be when he grows up.
