History's Worst: 2000 Years of Idiocy by Adam Powell
History’s Worst celebrates the mad, bad, and just plain mediocre. Generals more dangerous to their own side, monarchs too loony to be let out of the palace, and politicians who make you weep for democracy. There have been plenty of “best ofs,” but History’s Worst deals with the biggest butchers and buffoons from the ancient world to the bloodstained twentieth century—from the king who thought he was made of glass to the exploding dog regiment. Funny and provocative, this is the stuff you never learned in class.
Celebrate the worst ofs—not best ofs—as human failure is far more amusing.
This is the sort of history that was never taught in class.
Idiocy is the best form of comedy and there is an inexhaustible supply.

‘I’ve always collected interesting stories for my History classes, some amusing, some striking, hopefully drawing people into my subject. I found that soon after I started conducting further research I had enough tales to fill a book and ‘History’s Worst’ was born! The book aims to appeal to all readers, not just history buffs, as its full of funny and compelling anecdotes which I hope people will enjoy’.
Adam’s title has been published as an e-book, which is available to download through Amazon’s Kindle App on computer and tablet. History’s Worst: 2000 Years of Idiocy
